The Spanish sensation reached the quarters in Canda after dismissing Daniel Evans 7-6 6-4 and Guido Pella 6-3 6-4.

While Rafa is extremely happy with his fitness, he seems to be not so excited by the overall conditions to comment:
“Court is fast, balls have always the same issue. It’s a tough ball for the elbow and wrist
. It’s too heavy but it has been the same issue for years, the brand is working to improve but I do not think they were able to make a difference. I am happy they are trying hard so that they can find a solution.”H2H Nadal vs. Fognini
