Rafael Nadal is sailing in Montreal where he is trying to defend the title that he conquered last year in Toronto in the previous edition of the Rogers Cup.

The Spanish sensation reached the quarters in Canda after dismissing Daniel Evans 7-6 6-4 and Guido Pella 6-3 6-4.

Heavy balls are a danger to elbow and wrist. NADAL

While Rafa is extremely happy with his fitness, he seems to be not so excited by the overall conditions to comment:

“Court is fast; balls always have the same issue. It’s a tough ball for the elbow and wrist. It’s too heavy, but it has been the same issue for years, the brand is working to improve, but I do not think they were able to make a difference. I am happy they are trying hard so that they can find a solution.”

Rafa is well-known to be extremely sensitive to issues that can cause injuries, and it’s not the first time that states problems with tennis balls on the circuit. For example, he used to complain a lot for the fact that completely different balls are often used during the Asian swing. According to the Spanish legend, these sudden changes can contribute to create nasty injuries for tennis players.
