Roberto Bautista Agut makes the perfect start of the season after he won the Chennai Open. The Spaniard clinches his 5th career title after beating low ranked players (the highest was Paire ranked no.47), but still it was a success.

The final against Medvedev (ranked 99) was extremely smooth for Roberto that broke his opponent once per set. Eventually, the Spaniard won 6-3 6-4 in just 73 minutes.

It’s a great tournament

Roberto was elated with this title to comment

“I think it’s a great tournament and that’s why it’s my fifth time in a row coming here,” said Bautista Agut. “This tournament has helped me a lot to get into the Top 50 players. I’m a much better player now than five years ago. I have more experience and I’ve improved a lot of things.

There are a lot of tournaments and a lot of points coming up, but I’m happy with the start to win the first week of the year.”
