Aryna Sabalenka is finally back to winning ways after a complicated year.
Before this week, the Belarussian had a not-so-great 19-15 win-loss record. However, she is currently in the final in San Jose to have a shot at her 4th career title, the second of the season after Shenzhen.
H2H Sabalenka vs. Zheng – the final
Aryna will face Saisai Zheng in the final. This will be the 1st time that they will face each other on the main tour.
Aryna reached the final after defeating Coco Vandeweghe 6-3 6-3, Carla Suarez Navarro 3-6 6-2 6-4, and Donna Vekic 6-4 6-3.
The world no.10 will be full of confidence ahead of her final, especially after she won a very convincing semifinal against Vekic. Later, Aryna commented:
“I just hit the ball as hard as I could, and everything was going in. It probably was a lucky day for me. It was a great match. I enjoyed every second here today.”
