Federer to play in 4 countries in Latin America from November

Federer to play matches in South America in November

Tony Godsick, the coach of Roger Federer spoke about the South American tour in November of the star player. Tony said that he wanted to include Brazil as one of the stops for the player but he could not find any investors interested in the event.

Godsick said:

“We tried to look for someone who wanted to support the event but we did not have success.”

Federer has visited Brazil for the first time in the year 2012. There he played against some high-quality players like the German Tommy Haas, the local hero Thomaz Bellucci and the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Will Roger Federer play in Brazil?

Brazil has seen some of the best players like Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Bob and Mike Bryan and Bruno Soares playing in the country a few years back. At that time Gillette used to sponsor the events but that ended it in the year 2015 and since then no other investors have turned up.

The coach adds that Roger loves Brazil and the fans there but because of the lack of sponsorship, he has not been able to visit the country for many years now, but surely if some investors turn up then Roger will really be keen to visit and play in the country. He says:

“Roger had an unbelievable visit in Brazil in 2012 and he loves his Brazilian fans who support him so much and even travel over the world to watch him. If this year there is no plan for Brazil I hope he will be back in the country in the future.”

Federer tour in November includes several matched in countries like Mexico, Argentina, Chile and maybe in Colombia. Brazil will surely be missed. Gustavo Kuerten, the former world No.1, had earlier expressed his keenness to face the 8-time Wimbledon champion.

At the moment Federer is having some great time on his family vacation in eastern Switzerland. As per a local reporter, he is looking absolutely fresh and enjoying hiking, swimming and other activities along with his loving family. The Swiss maestro missed the Wimbledon by a narrow margin and after a tense final it was absolutely necessary for him to relax and recover and since Roger loves being close to nature, eastern Switzerland was the best option for him to relax.
