Nick Kyrgios is at it again. His not so generous comments about Novak Djokovic has hit the sports headlines in the past. He is a man hardly known to let anyone else win a war of words. The Australian has again directed his comments on the Serbian, this time in Washington. When a fan wearing a ‘Novak’ t-shirt asked him to sign an autograph, he signed it across the word ‘Novak’ on the shirt and then he drew a big black cross on the shirt. After he was done with crossing the shirt with black, he said:
“That’s what I think of you and your shirt.”
Kyrgios-Djokovic Spats
Earlier the Australian had made a scathing comment on Novak saying:
“I just feel like he has a sick obsession with wanting to be liked. He just wants to be like Roger. For me personally — I don’t care right now, I’ve come this far — I feel like he just wants to be liked so much that I just can’t stand him. This whole celebration thing that he does after matches, it’s like so cringe-worthy. It’s very cringeworthy.”
Again Kyrgios was critical of Djokovic when he pulled out of the Australian Open:
“We’re talking about a guy who pulled out of the Australian Open one year because it was too hot. No matter how many Grand Slams he wins, he will never be the greatest for me.”
Again Kyrgios had questioned the playing ability of Djokovic saying that he trains a lot compared to him. He meant to say that if he trains like Djokovic, then he will be a better player than the Serbian.
“Simply because, I’ve played him twice and like, I’m sorry, but if you can’t beat me, you’re not the greatest of all time. Because if you like look at my day-to-day routine and how much I train and how much I put in, it’s zero compared to him.”
Djokovic is getting tired of Australian’s comments and recently said that if he had concentrated on playing rather than speaking he would have been able to fulfil his potential as a player.
