A love guru to take Becker’s place with Djokovic?

If you think that psychology is (almost) everything in tennis, think again: it’s love!

World no.1 Novak Djokovic is trying to find his inner self after struggling during the last part of the season. Apparently, Nole wasn’t coping with the pressure of winning trophies and keeping the top spot in the rankings, and he turned to a spiritual guru. Pepe Imaz, the new guide for Djokovic, will accompany the world no.1 at the tournament in Paris instead of his coaches Boris Becker and Marian Vajda.

Who is the spiritual guru?

Pepe is Spanish, and he was once ranked world no.167. He established a strong connection with Nole’s brother, Marko, that commented

“I felt free because in front of me I had a person who looked at me with just love, without judgment. Finally, after four years I can tell my Dad, my Mum, my brothers, my friends that I love them.”

He looks for divine light

Djokovic commented

“Essentially we are all looking for love, happiness, and harmony…We need to be able to look inwards and to establish this connection with a divine light.”

That’s new way to see things. If it works, why not?
