Juan Martin Del Potro is one of the most likable players on tour, but on Thursday in Basel, he couldn’t contain his rage against Robin Haase.
What happened?
Del Potro was leading 6-3 3-2 (on serve) when he was broken by Haase. Juan Martin was under the impression that the Dutchman was faking an injury. In fact, Robin was often limping in between points and then he could find the energy and the fitness to win rallies and shout “Vamos.”
Del Potro commented
“He grabs his leg, limps, then shouts ‘come on.’ You’re such a piece of a ghost. The c*** of your mother”.
Eventually, Juan Martin won the match 6-3 6-4, but that wasn’t great.
