Kyrgios, Tsitsipas to play doubles together in Washington

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgio will team up in Washington

Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas are going to entertain the local crowd in Washington as they decided to play doubles together.

This decision came a bit as a surprise as 1 year ago they had some spats also on social media. Once, Kyrgios made fun of Tsitsipas’ vlogs, and when Stefanos was asked about his relationship with the Australian, he replied:

“Everybody knows who Kyrgios is, let’s be honest. I know some people see these things I do as something weird, writing all these tweets that make no sense.

It’s not sitting in my room playing video games like someone does. It’s better going outside and creating something rather than just sitting inside playing video games for the whole day, which I did before and now see no point in doing.”

Why it’s strange to see Tsitsipas and Kyrgios playing together

Another reason that makes it weird seeing Nick and Stefanos playing together is also their completely different approach to tennis and to life in general. While on one side, Kyrgios keeps on asking that he is not really interested in the sport, on another Tsitsipas is fully committed.

To date, Kyrgios and Tsitsipas have never played each other in singles, but both of them have defeated the big3 at least once. This and their Greek roots are probably the only points that they have in common.
