Nick Kyrgios had a rather tough time in the past few months with the Australian Olympic Committee. Eventually, Nick decided not to compete in Rio to play some other tournaments (he is currently in the semifinals in Atlanta).

Thanasi Kokkinakis made the exact opposite choice of his friend Nick to decide to compete in Rio even if he hasn’t yet recovered from a shoulder operation “I wouldn’t have played if it was any other tournament,” he commented.

Why Kokkinakis doesn’t feel sorry for Kyrgios

During a recent interview, Thanasi commented “I’m not going to say I really feel for him,” Kokkinakis commented.

Maybe there were a few rough things on him, but it’s his choice. He goes about it his own way. He’s a different character. He didn’t want to do it this year. But he’s young, and he’ll have a few more chances in the future.”

Thanasi will kick start his campaign against Gastao Elias. He is expecting nothing from this.
