That was pretty nasty!
It took just 46 minutes for Simona Halep to win her 13th career title, the second of the season after Madrid. The victim was the world no.66 Anastaja Sevastova that has managed to score just 21 points (vs. Simona’s 52). This is the first time in Simona’s career that she has managed to double-bagel her opponent.
I have never won 6-0 6-0. HALEP
After the match, Simona commented
“I think I’ve never won 6-0, 6-0 in a WTA event,” Halep commented. “I knew she was a tough adversary and I never dreamt of winning this way. A player that reaches the final has a strong game, feels the game.
Today I think I was more solid, I fought every ball, I was aggressive and I managed to finish the points very quick.”
