There is a great talk about the nextgen taking over the Big3, but eventually Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer are still dominating the scene and the rankings.
Wimbledon has just started, and we have already lost some of the prominent upcoming players after the 1st round following the defeats of Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov, and Frances Tiafoe.
Not surprisingly, the Big 3 are in the 2 round without many problems with the exception of an awkward 1set that Federer lost to Harris Lloyd in what later resulted in a relatively easy contest.
Why Djokovic is the favorite
During a recent interview, American legend and top commentator John McEnroe made his pick about the favorite to win the Championships this year to say:
“It’s hard not to pick from Roger, Novak, and Rafa. And, for me, Novak is the one to beat, although Rafa looked more comfortable on the grass last year. But a lot rests on the draw and whether any of those guys come up against some rougher customers earlier on. If it’s a big server in the first round when you’re not into your rhythm, that’s tough, but it’s hard to look beyond the big three.”

Djokovic will face Denis Kudla in the 2nd round. They have never played each other so far.
