Why Murray would be happy to work with Lendl again

Andy Murray has just parted ways from Amelie Mauresmo, and he is already quite active in finding his new coach. The Scot would like to go “back to the future” to work again with Ivan Lendl. The partnership with Ivan has brought two slams, and that was clearly the best moment of Andy’s career.

Murray. I would definitely consider it

After a recent interview about the opportunity for Andy to work again with Lendl, the Scot commented “I’d certainly consider it. I had fantastic results working with Ivan. Both of us, I think, enjoyed it enough to at least consider that.

Whether or not it’s something that could work, I’m not sure. We’ll have to wait and see – but I’m not against that idea at all.”

Why Lendl may not accept

At the moment, Lendl is working with the USTA where he is training the top juniores. This job shouldn’t be a big hurdle, but Ivan may not be happy with spending half of the year around the world. A sort of part-time (or remote) coaching could help. During the last year, Lendl has explored the opportunity to coach Berdych or Dimitrov, but nothing has finally happened.

THIS WAS GREAT
