Federer scheduled again to play at noon. Not sure if he will play.

Roger is not sure he will be able to compete in Rome

Roger Federer is not sure he will be able to compete in the 3rd round in Rome, and the organization of the tournament had to adjust its schedule accordingly.

Roger is used to playing during “prime times” (i.e., at night), but Federer has been extremely honest with the organization of the tournament about the fact that he will decide if he will play only after the warm-up before each match. Therefore, in order not to mess up the entire schedule of the tournament, Roger was (uncharacteristically) scheduled to play at noon against Zverev, and the same timing has been applied for his next match against Thiem.

Roger is not fully fit and his back can support him “till a certain point”; Federer seems to be unequipped to sustain a dogfight against Thiem. If Roger’s injury deteriorates, the Maestro may miss the Roland Garros, and the entire grass season could be compromised. This would be a disaster for the Swiss.
