The team cooperated with the investigation, and Sinner was found to have no fault in the positive test result. The incident took months to come to light, with everyone involved believing in Sinner’s innocence and the sports resolution allowing him to continue playing while the International Tennis Integrity Agency conducted their investigation.
Sinner lost his points and prize money earned in Indian Wells. Cahill emphasizes that Sinner is a professional young man who would never intentionally do anything to gain an advantage and that everyone around him is meticulous in compliance with anti-doping rules. He also mentions Simona Halep’s previous suspension for a similar issue but notes the differences in the cases.
