Ashleigh Barty, Marketa Vondrousova, Naomi Osaka, and Iga Swiatek are the big movers after the Roland Garros

After an exciting edition of the French Open, we have some interesting movements at the very top of the WTA rankings.

Naomi Osaka and Ashleigh Barty

The Japanese lost as early as in the 3rd round in Paris at the hands of Katerina Siniakova. However, Osaka managed to remain the world no.1, but she is now leading the new world no.2, Ashleigh Barty, by only 136 points.

After winning the French Open the Australian is not only closer to the top of the “traditional rankings,” but she is also the world no.1 in the Year to date rankings.

Amanda Anisimova

The 17-year-old from the US had an outstanding run in Paris where she reached the semifinals without conceding a single set. After this run, the American goes 25 places up in the rankings to be the new world no.26 (career high).

Marketa Vondrousova

The Czech was the other big surprise of the Roland Garros where she reached the final. After this fortnight, Marketa goes 22 places up in the rankings to be the new world no.16 (career high).

Iga Swiatek

The 18-year-old from Poland also had a stunning run in Paris where she reached the 4th round. After this French Open, the Pole goes 37 places up in the rankings to be the new world no.67 (career high).
