The Spanish legend was struggling for the last 2 weeks for a problem that started to come out in the Australian Open.
“After the last match (with Tsonga), I saw that the situation was to be complicated to play,” Nadal said. “But, as always, I believe that things can improve. I did a lot of treatment, waiting.
“But I am not ready to compete. I am very sorry.”
