Sascha Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are poised to have one of the most exciting rivalries in the years to come.
The German has been widely considered as the next big thing and the “leader” of the so-called nextgen especially after he managed to win 3 Master ATP1000 and the ATP Finals.
However, the Greek sensation is also having his own success, and after reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open, he also won 2 tournaments (Marseille and Estoril), and he reached the final in Madrid. Stefanos is currently ranked no.6, and with his bubbling personality, he is also used to grab the headlines.
Why Zverev was so happy with Tsitsipas’ results
During his interview following his win over Fabio Fognini, Sascha commented
“The best thing that could have happened for me is how good Tsitsipas’ clay-court season was… I actually do believe that. I’m happy for him.
But, as I said, he was kind of the new superstar all of a sudden. And for me, it was actually quite a nice thing that not all of the attention of the NextGen is only going towards my way.”
