Stefanos Tsitsipas had a rather adventurous match in his French Open 2nd round against the world no.86 Hugo Dellien after he dropped the first set. Eventually, the Greek sensation found his way back to win 4-6 6-0 6-3 7-5 and qualify for the 3rd round.
About his bathroom break
After the match, Tsitsipas explained how he managed to regroup after losing the opening set to say
“I started thinking about what went wrong in the first set. That break helped me. So I went inside mentally prepared to fight more, and I was aware of the situation I was at. Once I got myself into the right mindset, things seemed to flow my way.
And from there, winning the 2nd set 6-0 was a good confidence boost for me. Obviously, after that, he didn’t want to give up. He fought as much as he could. But I seemed to prevail at the end.”
Stefanos will face Filip Krajinovicin the 3rd round for the 1st time of his career.
