Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated J.J. Wolf in the opening round of the French Open, says his injured forearm is getting better and better.

Alcaraz’s right arm still has the sleeve on it, although it’s more of a precaution than a real need. When hitting his forehands with maximum force, Alcaraz had no symptoms of injury, playing a perfect match.

Due to a muscle strain, the 21-year-old had to withdraw from the Monte Carlo Masters in April and didn’t have any match preparation before travelling to Paris.

Alcaraz said about his forearm: “Obviously, I still feel weird, let’s say, or I’m afraid to hit all the forehands 100%. It’s still in my mind, but I didn’t feel anything after the game, which is good for me. So I can say that I am fully recovered.”

Alcaraz provided an injury update after the win and said: “I would’ve loved to play more matches but I don’t think I need many matches to get to 100%. Four matches are too few. I’m not gonna lie. But I did really good preparation the last 2 weeks before coming here. I trained this week with top players. I felt good moving and hitting balls. My forearm is getting better and better. As I said, I feel like I didn’t stop playing. It’s a really good point for me.”
