The Gonet Geneva Open confirmed on Friday that Novak Djokovic, who was awarded a wild card, will play there next week.
The ATP 250 clay-court tournament in Geneva will be the inaugural event for the player ranked No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings. The 36-year-old was defeated by Alejandro Tabilo in the Rome ATP Masters 1000 third-round match last week. This season, Djokovic’s best performance was making it to the Australian Open semifinals.
To get ready for the best results, Djokovic started his practice session in Geneva, where he was recently spotted before his campaign.

Ranked world no.1, the Serbian played his last match on the 12th of May when he surrendered to world no.25 Alejandro Tabilo 6-2 6-3 in the 3rd round in Rome (draw).
During this season Novak owns a composed 12-5 match record. Novak Djokovic’s best performance of this year was getting to the semifinal at the Australian Open and Monte Carlo.
Novak Djokovic will play the world no.85 Yannick Hanfmann in the 2nd round. They have never played each other until now on the main tour.
