Daniil Medvedev is presently fighting against Sebastian Korda in the 3rd round of the Mutua Madrid Open on Monday. After losing the first set, Medvedev was frustrated with the umpire because he wanted the roof to be closed. When the umpire mentioned that the decision was not his to make but “they” make the decision, Medvedev jokingly responded, “Who are ‘they?’ The Illuminati?”

Now ranked no.4, the Russian played his last match on the 27th of April when he defeated world no.36 Matteo Arnaldi 2-6 6-4 6-4 in the 2nd round in Madrid (draw).
This season the Russian has achieved a compiled 20-5 win-loss record. Daniil Medvedev’s most significant result of the current year was getting to the final at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.
