After smashing forehands and winning 18 of 22 points when he charged to the net, the Spaniard defeated the 23rd seed from Italy in less than 90 minutes.

Alcaraz, who had experienced difficulty due to an ankle issue earlier in the season, stated this after his eighth straight victory. Alcaraz denied any injury concerns after the win and said: “Without a doubt, this is the best I’ve been feeling. I’m feeling great on the court; I’m moving great with no injuries because I don’t think about the ankle any more on the court.”
