Garbine Muguruza keeps on marching steady in these WTA finals. The Spaniard defeated Safarova in straight sets in the first match and now she dismisses Angelique Kerber 6-4 6-4 in 1 hour and 39 minutes to be at the top of her group.

Garbine is more and more comfortable with her new “status” of top player to comment “I’m really motivated to be here because it’s my first time in Singapore singles! So I really want to come here and win all the matches I can and hopefully go far.”
