The Indian Wells semifinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner was called off due to rain. The focus of attention during this play pause was Sinner’s conversation with a ball girl. Sinner has once again demonstrated why the young Italian was chosen as the crowd favourite in the previous season. Sinner shared a touching encounter with a young child on the court last year.
The ball kids rushed up to the players as the play was stopped, offering their umbrellas as protection. Sinner invited the ball girl to sit with him and then held the umbrella open for the two of them, keeping them dry during the downpour. The ball girl is seen with a delighted smile as she sits with Sinner.
The cameras also caught Sinner discussing her duties with the ball girl. Commentators felt the moment was lovely due to Sinner’s display of courtesy. The play was stopped for three hours with 17 minutes remaining in the match, with Sinner leading 2-1. After play resumed, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, and 6-2, to advance to the final match. Sinner’s kindness toward the ball girl will benefit him even when he loses, according to the tennis community.

LWWWWWWWWW Currently ranked no.3 (career-high), Jannik played his last match on the 16th of March when he lost to world no.2 Carlos Alcaraz 1-6 6-3 6-2 in the semifinal in Indian Wells (draw).
