Roger Federer has designed a collection of sunglasses exclusively for Oliver Peoples.

The former athlete got creative with the tennis-themed line, which includes the number eight, which stands for both his birthday and the number of Wimbledon titles he has won, along with an octagonal shape that resembles the design of a racket butt and a pattern modelled after a tennis racket’s strings.

Federer said of the collection: “Sunglasses are something I’ve enjoyed as my sport has required me to chase the sun 80% of my life. One of the main goals of our collection was to create sunglasses that could be used in every aspect of one’s routine, off or on the court.”

This week saw the release of the first six styles, and Roger has said he is happy with the finished items. He said while talking in an interview: “I think when you have a chance to work with great people and great minds, you get into this idea of how cool it would be to have your sunglasses and, if you could, who would you choose? And you’re like, Oliver Peoples, how cool would that be?”
