Tennis legend Roger Federer said he hoped Stefanos Tsitsipas would improve, although he acknowledged that the Greek player is a superb talent.

Although the 20-time Grand Slam champion believes Tsitsipas is still progressing well, he expressed optimism that the 25-year-old will excel this year and make significant progress.

After being a regular in the top eight for the majority of the previous five years, Tsitsipas is currently going through a difficult period and has fallen to 11th in the ATP Rankings, which is reasonable given the high standards he has set.

Tsitsipas had a disappointing season in 2023, partly due to injury problems, despite his outstanding run to the Australian Open final. Federer was recently questioned about Tsitsipas during an interview at the 96th Academy Awards.

Federer expressed his thoughts about Tsitsipas and said: “Good. I mean, I lost against him a bunch of times and I think he’s a great player, but I would like to see him take it to the next level. So I wish him very well. Of course, Tsitsipas is still doing well, and I hope he can do great this year and have another breakthrough.”
