Terrible stuff in Beijing as Genie Bouchard had to retire once again because of the still lingering effects of the concussion suffered at the US Open.
What happened?
Genie was playing a difficult first round in Beijing against Andrea Petkovic to stop playing after she was 2-6 1-all down due to dizziness.
After retiring, Andrea went to console a desperate Genie that was unable to contain her tears.
1 year ago the Canadian reached a world no.5 career high and that looked just the beginning, unfortunately her ranking went to the wrong direction.
Let’s hope to see Genie fully fit and motivated in 2016!
