Jo-Wilfried Tsonga ends a +1 year drought after winning the title in Metz.
The Frenchman didn’t win a tournament since February 2014 (Marseille) and he was eager to stop that in his home country. Jo-Wilfried had to face his good friend Gilles Simon that has already beaten him in the 2013 final in Metz. This time things have been different with Tsonga winning 7-6 (5) 1-6 6-2.

This is Tsonga’s 12 career title, the 6th in France and the 3rd in Metz “I’m really happy to win again here in Metz to comment “I like the welcome I get here and to win this year is great. It’s my first of the year and I hope it will continue. It’s a good achievement for me.
Gilles is very difficult to play against. You need energy with each ball you play against him. He’s a good defender and is always ready to play passing shots. When I play against him it’s always tough.”
