Ajla Tomljanovic has had yet another hurdle in her comeback to professional tennis after surgery to deal with an unexpected health concern.

To eliminate several uterine fibroids from her body, Tomljanovic underwent treatment. According to NHS England, two out of every three women will experience at least one type of uterine fibroids over their lifetime. Uterine fibroids are a frequent form of noncancerous tumor that can grow in and on the uterus. Depending on the individual, symptoms can include frequent urination, lower back pain, abdominal pain, and heavy periods.

She posted on Instagram: “Hello everyone; unfortunately, I won’t be competing for a couple of weeks. I was very much looking forward to the next hard court events. I had to get some uterine fibroids removed and will be watching from home while healing. I will be back soon.”
