Now the world no.20, the Russian played her last match on the 15th of January when she was overcome by world no.78 Laura Siegemund 6-2 3-6 7-6(9) in the 1st round of the Australian Open (draw).

Vekic is scheduled to compete next in Linz (Upper Austria Ladies Linz). She will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 29th of January.
