The Russian player was down by two sets, but he was back from the grave, winning the following 2. In the 4th set he procured the decisive set point with an incredibly lucky drop shot on return.

WWWLWLWWWW Now the world no.3, the Russian played his last match on the 24th of January when he defeated world no.9 Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(4) 2-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).
Presently, during this year Medvedev achieved a composed 5-0 record.
Medvedev has scheduled to compete next in Rotterdam (ABN AMRO Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 12th of February.
