Once again 2 of the most promising tennis stars have a different path in a tournament (now Cincinnati).
Bouchard
Genie cannot win 2 consecutive matches since March to lose in the Cincinnati second round to Elina Svitolina 7-6 (6) 7-5. Genie has now a terrible 9-14 win/loss record on the WTA tour in 2015… going down and down.
I swear, Bouchard saved three match points to hold for 5-all in set two and moped between games like the sky was falling.

Svitolina beats Bouchard 7-6(6), 7-5, awaits winner of Kvitova-Garcia (looking like Garcia). Still, Genie looks sorta back on her feet now.

Svitolina d. Bouchard 7-6(6) 7-5. Genie played well but was unable to play well when it really mattered. Onwards and upwards! #CincyTennis

Bencic
The 18-year-old doesn’t look to be satisfied after winning the Rogers Cup to reach the 3rd round in Cincinnati after beating a couple of rough players in the first 2 rounds. In the opener she defeated Angelique Kerber 7-5 6-3 and now in the second round she beat Flavia Pennetta 6-1 6-4. Belinda will play Lucie Safarova, but at this point tiredness seems to be the only threat for the Swiss.
