Bencic upsets Wozniacki

Belinda Bencic is rising faster and faster.

The 18-year-old from Switzerland is posed to break in the top20 quite soon (now she is no.20) and she keeps on winning matches after matches.

Belinda defeated home favorite Genie Bouchard in the Toronto opener (ok, that’s not tough nowadays) and now she claims a big big scalp: seed no.4 Caroline Wozniacki.

Belinda had to recover from 1 break down in both sets to finally win 7-5 7-5. Match Stats.

Bencic: I really feel good here

Belinda commented “It’s two great wins for me, of course, in two days. So I’m really happy about that I could win today. I really feel good here in Toronto – I like it very much – so I was hoping it could be a good tournament. And now I hope it can be even better!”

Next vs. Lisicki

Belinda will face Sabine Lisicki in the 3rd round. Head to head is 1-0 for Sabine, but Belinda has a clear shot at reaching the 4th round.
