In an attempt to move past a back injury that derailed the end of his 2023 campaign, Stefanos Tsitsipas is hoping to “reboot” himself for the upcoming tennis season. The Greek world No. 6 was forced to retire from his second match at the ATP Finals last month due to back problems, which abruptly ended his season.
The 25-year-old focused on playing doubles and mixed doubles during the exhibition event in Abu Dhabi, declining to play any singles sets. He will start his 2024 campaign at the United Cup in Sydney, where he will play alongside fellow countryman Maria Sakkari for Greece in their opening match against Chile on January 2.
During the following interview, he said that his back had “almost healed,” but he didn’t sound that optimistic.

Currently the world no.6, Tsitsipas played his last match on the 14th of November when he had to retire when playing against world no.8 Holger Rune in the round robin and the scoreline was 2-1 .
Presently, during this year Tsitsipas has managed to achieve a compiled 51-24 match record. The Greek conquered 1 title in Los Cabos. Tsitsipas got to the final at the Australian Open and Barcelona.
Tsitsipas is scheduled to play next at the Australian Open (Australian Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 14th of January.
