Daniil Medvedev has been nominated for the ATP player of the year

Daniil Medvedev has been nominated as one of the top 10 impact players for the ATP Tour in 2023 due to his exceptional play and season-long performance.

Medvedev Holds The Trophy

When Daniil Medvedev was discouraged after the Australian Open and fell out of the top 10, he also knew that in tennis, things can change quickly. And they certainly did for Medvedev, who over the next four months won five tournaments, including his first clay-court title at a Masters event in Rome. He also advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals and defeated Carlos Alcaraz in one of his best matches ever at the US Open.

Former world No. 1 Tracy Austin expressed her thoughts about Medvedev and said: “This year at Flushing Meadows, I had the chance to sit in the front row and watch Daniil’s unorthodox strokes up close. The flight path of his ball is amazing. Like a laser, it comes at his opponents quick, hard, and low. It was terrific to see Medvedev get back in the thick of things this year.”

Austin shared her compliments for the Russian player and said: “Daniil Medvedev is so authentic when he speaks—candid, humorous, insightful. All that wisdom helps him compete superbly.”

Medvedev’s outstanding play and remarkable performance throughout the season have earned him a nomination as one of the top 10 impact players for the ATP Tour in 2023.
