Coco Gauff seemed disappointed and sad following her defeat at the WTA Finals, but she has already begun preparing for the next season in a positive manner.
At the beginning of North America’s hard court swing in Washington, Gauff emerged victorious in her first WTA 500 competition. Gauff went on to win her first Grand Slam trophy at the US Open after winning the WTA 1000 championship in Cincinnati.
She participated at the WTA Finals and a WTA 1000 event in Beijing. In both competitions, Gauff advanced to the semifinals.
The 19-year-old player shared a post on Instagram following a tough defeat to Jessica Pegula in the WTA Finals semifinals. Gauff wrote: “The 2023 season is officially over. It is hard to sum up this season in a few words. I saw the darkest and brightest days of my life this year. I probably grew enough for 10 lifetimes between January and now, lol. I usually don’t say this, but I am learning to be nicer to myself. But yes, I am proud of myself.”
Gauff appears to be putting a lot of effort into increasing her fitness, as she was recently spotted working out hard in a gym in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season.

LWWWWLWWLW Ranked world no.3 (career-high), the American played her last match on the 4th of November when she was defeated by world no.5 Jessica Pegula 6-2 6-1 in the semifinal in Cancun (draw).
Presently, during this year Gauff has achieved an overall 51-16 win-loss record. The American clinched 4 titles in 2023 in Auckland, Washington, Cincinnati and U.S. Open.
