The King of Clay has defeated Verdasco in 3 sets in the opener (3-6 6-1 6-1) and now he needs to edge rising star Jiri Vesely in the second round.
The 22 year-old has defeated Haider-Maurer 3-6 6-1 6-0 in the first round.
This is the first time Rafa play Vesely.
