Tennis fans were surprised when they saw Novak Djokovic and pop singer Rita Ora watching the 2023 Rugby World Cup final between South Africa and New Zealand.
Djokovic just traveled to France in preparation for the Paris Masters in 2023. The Serb was present at the Stade de France on Saturday, October 28, when the Springboks defeated New Zealand 12-11 to win their fourth World Cup in a row.
The spectators were fascinated to see how the 24-time Grand Slam champion and Rita Ora were observing the action. The singer reacted cheerfully when they were suddenly shown on screen, while the Serb looked surprised. They had been seen chatting.
Considering that earlier this year, Ora had looked irritated when Djokovic’s advertisement showed on the screen while she was filming a promotional video for her album ‘You & 1,’ one fan expressed surprise at the pairing.
The fan commented: “I thought she didn’t like him since this video and his views on Kosovo.”
Some fans jokingly proposed that the dialogue between Djokovic and Ora, who was born in Kosovo to Albanian parents, might hold the key to settling the dispute between ethnic Albanians and Serbs in the region.
