Groth, Hewitt teach a lesson to Kyrgios in epic

Nick Kyrgios is killing his image with a rare display of arrogance and … “bratness”. The young Australian was one of the most interesting prospects, but eventually this season he has just shown a very disappointing behavior especially during the last slam.

After countless episodes of bad behavior in Wimbledon, Nick lost in the 4th round to Gasquet to go back to Australia among a rough discussion about his (not epic) gestures and if he was suitable to represent Australia.

Eventually after few days Kyrgios had a way to redeem himself in the Davis Cup quarters against Kazakhstan, but things went south again. Nick lost to world no, 115 Aleksandr Nedovyesov 7-6 (5) 6-7 (2) 7-6 (5) 6-4 after being accused once again of tanking (he even said ”I do not want to be here”)

Also Kokkinakis lost his single against Kukushkin and so Australia was 0-2 down. Game over? Not really the “veterans” Hewitt (1-7 win/loss record in 2015) and (an improbable) Groth fought back in absolute style and with lots of grit. Both Llyeton and Sam showed incredible passion to win the doubles (1-2 for Kazakhstan) and both were rightly selected to play singles instead of Kokkinakis and (especially) Kyrgios.

The result? Both Groth and Hewitt won their singles putting the crowd and the entire Australian tennis community on fire to give their team a pass to the semifinals.

Australia won 3-2 and that was lots of fun, not “selfie-style” fun, but something more that came by playing a great and passionate tennis. Let’s hope Nick learned how to be a tennis pro from these two.

Spending a couple of hours in detention in USA is not cool, Kyrgios doesn’t need to follow his friend Bernard. Right now that’s the direction…

NICK, THIS IS REALLY COOL…

...THIS IS NOT COOL

THAT'S RIGHT... BUT IT'S ABOUT BEING STRONG, NOT FUNKY

The old fellas showed us how it was done this time! #hugeffort #youngbloods @k1ngkyrg1os @samgrothtennis #rusty #AUS
