The 2024 United Cup teams for Perth and Sydney have been revealed. Following the formal draw on Monday, Grand Slam winners Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek will kick off their respective 2024 United Cup campaigns in Perth.
In the West Australian capital, the reigning champions, the United States, will take on Australia and Great Britain in a highly anticipated Group C match. In Sydney, a highly anticipated match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime is scheduled to take place.
The United States has perhaps the most challenging path out of the group stage among the top four seeds in its bid to defend its title.
Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek are the players to watch at the second edition of this tournament, and the fans are thrilled to watch them play.
Novak Djokovic in 2023
WWWWLWWLWL Ranked world no.1, Novak played his last match on the 15th of September when he defeated world no.26 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3 6-4 in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).
At present, during this year the Serbian has achieved a 46-5 win-loss record. Djokovic conquered 5 titles in 2023 in Adelaide, Australian Open, French Open, Cincinnati and U.S. Open. Djokovic was the runner-up in Wimbledon.
Djokovic has scheduled to compete next in Paris (Rolex Paris Masters). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 30th of October.
Iga Swiatek in 2023
Now the world no.2, the Pole played her last match on the 8th of October when she beat world no.15 Ludmilla Samsonova 6-2 6-2 in the final in Beijing to win her 16th career title.
This year Swiatek owns an overall 63-11 record. Iga has won 5 titles in 2023 in Doha, Stuttgart, French Open, Warsaw and Beijing. Iga was the runner-up in Dubai and Madrid.
