Like Naomi Osaka, American tennis sensation Coco Gauff has also raised awareness of the mental health of athletes as a major social issue. Judy Murray, the mother of Andy Murray, has specific expressions for both of them to highlight this concern.

Judy was recently a part of a roundtable discussion concerning sports representation. Murray used tennis players like Osaka, Gauff, and Jabeur as examples during that show.

She expressed her thoughts in the show and said: “If I look at Coco and Naomi Osaka, they’re both young women who’ve spoken out and used their voices really well, whether it’s Black Lives Matter, whether it’s mental health, pressures of being in the public eye and so forth.”

Judy added: “I think that’s one of the things that we have to do on the female side, is to encourage women and girls to speak up, because you wouldn’t get any change if you don’t talk about it.”

Gauff has captured everyone’s interest on the court with her performances. She has, however, made a strong public statement opposing social issues off the court.
