Kokkinakis: Not surprised with Kyrgios behavior

Thanasi Kokkinakis knows his great friend Nick Kyrgios for ages (well ok… it is not they are 50). Both played each other since they were kids and they are used to travel together for some time.

Thanasi has witnessed Nick’s odd behavior already in the past and he thinks that his friend should not respond to criticism about his on-court antics.

Kokkinakis: I am used to Nick’s behavior

Thanasi commented “As long as he doesn’t cross the line, whatever makes him play his best tennis is good.

“I find it funny to watch, everyone’s surprised by it but I’m used to it because I’ve known him for so long. It’s just something he does to get himself going. Whatever gets him fired up – he seems to play his best tennis when he’s fired up.

I’ve known Nick for ages, I played a Kid’s Cup event here in Canberra because I won my regional in Adelaide and saw him for the first time there. We’ve been travelling and playing together ever since. It’s good we can both play for our country and hopefully do good things.”

Thanasi and Nick are now in Darwin where they will face Kazakhstan in the Davis Cup quarters. Let’s see what they can achieve.

THAT’S A GREAT FRIENDSHIP!
