Iga Swiatek discusses her emotional reaction after winning the Beijing title

Iga Swiatek claims that after winning in Beijing, she reportedly broke down because she needed that triumph after everything that had happened to her at the US Open.

Iga Swiatek In Tears After The Title Win

According to Iga Swiatek, she cried after winning in Beijing, since she needed such a victory after everything that had occurred to her at the US Open. Swiatek broke down in tears after defeating Liudmila Samsonova 6-2, 6-2 to win the Beijing title.

Swiatek has had a challenging season and fell short of her accomplishments from the previous year. In spite of Coco Gauff’s statement that she would want to experience a season similar to Swiatek’s this year, the season hasn’t been devastating. However, despite not winning much in North America, the Polish player has had a few awful weeks.

For her goal of rediscovering her best game and recovering confidence, this run in China was crucial. She acknowledged as much after the match, revealing that she had started crying from the intensity of her feelings after defeating Samsonova.

Swiatek expressed her thoughts after the title win and said: “I cried a little after winning because I know how hard it is to stay positive & stay focused on the future. Maybe not to all of them, but for me. I have felt immense support from my team in recent weeks. I am very grateful for that. During the match I didn’t think about anything, I wanted to focus on tennis.”

She added: “This tournament will give me confidence for the rest of my career. It teaches me that there are always possibilities to surpass yourself. Sometimes it is quite simple, but we complicate things. I am very happy that I stayed focused on the hard work.”
