Rafael Nadal beats Felix Auger-Aliassime in the 2nd round in Madrid.

Rafael Nadal taught some clay lessons to Auger-Aliassime in a second-round match in Madrid. Though Nadal suffered from a stomach virus earlier this week, he seemed to have little issues with that as he put on an emphatic display of high-quality clay court tennis.

The Match

Auger-Aliassime tried his aggressive tactics but Nadal worked on his defense to encounter this. A high number of unforced errors from the 18-year-old made it easy for Nadal in the first set. The world no.2 broke Auger-Aliassime to lead the set 5-3 and then win the first set 6-3 in 41 minutes.

The second set saw a bad start for Auger-Aliassime as Nadal broke his serve in the opening game. Nadal again broke him to lead the second set 5-2.  Nadal missed on winning the set and match on his own serve when he was broken by the young Canadian, however, Nadal broke Auger-Aliassime serve to win the second set 6-3.

Nadal won the match 6-3 6-3 in 1 hour and 37 minutes.
