2 of the most interesting teenagers will play clash in the first round of the qualifications in Madrid

Amanda Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova and Marta Kostyuk are among the most exciting teenagers on tour.

Anisimova

At 17 years of age, the American has just won her maiden title in Bogota’ and she seems to be in the right mental space to be one of the most important players in the world in the years to come. Ranked no.53, Amanda had the best preparation for Madrid in Bogota that is also played on red clay in altitude.

Marta impressed last year when at 15 years of age she reached the 3rd round at the Australian Open starting straight from the qualifications and after winning 5 consecutive matches. The Ukrainian is not registering the same performance this year (still, she is just 16) after she failed to qualify for the main draw in Brisbane and at the Australian Open. Therefore, her ranking plummeted from a world no.119 career-high to no.320. Still, there are big expectations for the teenager.

Amanda and Marta are scheduled to play at noon on court no.4.
