In a strange occurrence in Vancouver, Canada, where Taylor Fritz is competing at the Laver Cup, Morgan Riddle and Fritz’s girlfriend found themselves locked out of their own hotel room.
At the current indoor hard-court competition featuring some of the top ATP players in the world, Fritz is leading Team World in their annual clash with Team Europe.
Riddle, a social media influencer who has been giving her followers behind-the-scenes videos of the Laver Cup and the couple’s time in Vancouver, is accompanying Fritz there.
This contained one of Fritz’s posts in the hotel hallway following their accidental lockout due to the battery dying in their room.
Riddle shared this incident on her Instagram story with a caption: “Learned this morning that the battery on your hotel door can die.”

Now ranked no.8, Fritz played his last match on the 5th of September when he surrendered to world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-1 6-4 6-4 in the quarter of the U.S. Open (draw).
At present, during this year Fritz owns a 49-20 win-loss record. Taylor has won 3 titles in 2023 in Australia, Delray Beach and Atlanta.
Fritz has scheduled to compete next in Beijing (China Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 28th of September.
