Angelique Kerber is one of the nicest players on tour. In Miami, she was heavily criticized for labeling Bianca Andreescu as “the biggest drama queen ever.”
However, even if that episode wasn’t great at all, we need to concede that it happened after another tough loss handed by an 18-year-old and that came just 2 weeks after the German to the same teenager in the Indian Wells final. Taking into consideration the stress of losing that match (that ended early in the morning), we need to understand Angelique’s reaction even if it was commendable.
How tennis should be
Angelique Kerber was part of an opposite episode in Stuttgart when she engaged in an all-German battle against Andrea Petkovic that ended with Kerber winning 6-2 6-4. The nicest part of the contest was the huge hug at the end of the match.
This is how tennis, and life in general, should be.
