To get to the final, the American teenager had to win yet another tough match against 22-year-old Beatriz Haddad Maia that was in top form.

The match

The Brazilian was coming straight from the qualifications and before the semifinal she won 5 tough matches. After winning the first 6-4, Maia was struggling in the second. In fact, while Anisimova conceded 2 points on serve only in 1 game, Maia was continuing struggling to hold. Eventually, the set went to the breaker, but it was the American to win it at 2.
