Kyrgios, Tomic in doubt for the French Open

We are all eager to see how Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic will perform in the following months, but we might have a bad surprise as unfortunately both players had to retire from Nice.

Kyrgios

Nick had to retire when he was 4-3 up in the second round against Thiem. The Australian played down his retirement (elbow injury) to comment “Tough to retire today but I’ve played a lot of tennis recently and need to look after myself ahead of Roland Garros. It’s just a precaution, nothing major but I need to listen to my body.”

Well… he played only 5 sets in 13 days, that doesn’t seem to be lot of tennis…

—> LAST MINUTES (great) UPDATE   <--- Nick is confident to play… Nick’s way!

NOT MANY SETS PLAYED RECENTLY…

Tomic

The day before Nick’s withdrawal it was Bernard Tomic that had to retire after being 2-6 down against world no. 269 Gianni Mina citing a virus.

If you take it into consideration that at the beginning of the tournament also Kokkinakis decided to retire (fatigue), well you can say that this campaign hasn’t been that lucky for the Australians.

Now the big question is: will Kyrgios and Tomic be fit for the French Open? Time will tell.

NOT SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW?
